Mezcalería Quiéreme Mucho

Beneficio Viejo

In 1890, Frank Skidmore arrived in Mexico to explore the mineral bottoms of San Pedro Taviche, which let him to invest in that area. His son, Charles H. Skidmore, came to Oaxaca in 1910, and one year later bought the Hacienda mezcalera and agavera Guegorene, which was in addition to the mineral-rich Hacienda Beneficio Viejo that he had previously purchased.

In 1913, Charles married Saturnina Jiménes García, an indigenous Zapotec, who was then entrusted with overseeing mezcal production. The tradition of this drink remains to date, headed by Eduardo Jesús
Muñozcano, a fourth-generation member of the family, who keeps the production and promotion of this mezcal running under the brands Quiéreme Mucho and Beneficio Viejo. The Beneficio Viejo brand was
adopted to make the world aware of the existence of the Hacienda of the same name and to pay homage to his predecessors.
